Freetown, Sierra Leone — May 14, 2025: Archbishop Emmanuel Tamba Kongoh of the Church of the Lord Prayer Fellowship, Sierra Leone Province, has celebrated a decade of spiritual leadership in a commemorative event held at the Church Hall on Aladura Drive, Freetown.

The gathering brought together clergy, congregants, and well-wishers in recognition of the Archbishop’s unwavering commitment to faith and community development over the past 10 years.

Reflections on a Decade of Service

In his address, Archbishop Kongoh referenced 1 Samuel 7:13“Thus far the Lord has brought me”—to encapsulate his spiritual journey. He shared his transformation from a young disciple returning to Sierra Leone to becoming Archbishop, navigating challenges such as reconciliation, leadership struggles, and national crises like war and Ebola.

“God gave me the courage to rebuild not only a church, but a community still healing from division,” he stated.

Achievements Under His Leadership

During his tenure, Archbishop Kongoh has expanded the church’s nationwide presence, establishing Faith-homes and schools with notable growth in infrastructure and performance. He described the renovation of Mount Taborrah Spiritual Center as “the church’s greatest physical and spiritual accomplishment.”

Other milestones include:

  • Infrastructure upgrades, including improvements to church facilities and road construction.
  • Growth of provincial churches, which now rival urban branches in congregation size and structural development.
  • Choir stand renovations, fostering stronger musical ministry.

“We have established reliable churches and growing schools across the country,” he proudly remarked.

Tributes and Renewed Commitment

Acknowledging past mentors such as Rev. Canon Michael Bamidele Thompson, Rev. Nene Wilson, Rev. Jabbie, and Rev. Dambo, Archbishop Kongoh credited their spiritual guidance for shaping his leadership. He emphasized that perseverance and faith had defined his mission.

The celebration concluded with prayers, hymns, and a renewed commitment to the church’s mission, as Archbishop Kongoh vowed to continue his dedication to spiritual growth and community transformation.
