FREETOWN—A security officer from A.K Security Company testified on Monday, June 16, 2025, before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No.8 regarding an alleged theft at the Leocem Cement Factory in Cline Town, Freetown.

The accused—Anthony Kamara, Alusine Sesay, and Josephus Mansaray—were arraigned on two charges: Conspiracy contrary to law and Store Breaking under Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the charge sheet, on May 27, 2025, the suspects allegedly conspired to commit store breaking and larceny at the Leocem Cement Factory. They reportedly stole 208 liters of CLP Oil, 180 liters of EP2 Oil, and 208 liters of 15W40 Oil, with a total value of 62,798 New Leones, the property of the factory.

During his testimony, Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Dumbuya led witness Abubakarr Suma, a security officer at A.K Security Company. Suma recalled being on duty as the shift commander on the day of the incident. He stated that at 2 a.m., while patrolling, he received a call from an Operational Support Division (OSD) officer requesting backup.

Upon responding, Suma saw the suspects attempting to flee after allegedly stealing the items. The security team apprehended them and held them at the security post until morning, after which the matter was reported to Ross Road Police Station.

Defense counsel S.L. Lewis cross-examined the witness, but Magistrate Samura refused bail due to the severity of the charges. The case was adjourned to June 23, 2025, for continuation.
