Freetown, Sierra Leone – June 26, 2025: Amadu Mansaray, a security guard, has been remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown following allegations of theft from the Christian Action Church of Sierra Leone.
Mansaray made his first court appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 5 on Thursday. He faces a charge of Office Breaking and Larceny, contrary to Section 20(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to police prosecutors, the accused allegedly broke into the office of Pastor Fodie Kanneh at the church’s premises on #3 Cannon Street, in the Western Area of Freetown, on 18 June 2025. He is accused of stealing a desktop tablet computer and a backup device, with a combined value of Le8,500.
When the charge was read in court, Mansaray did not enter a plea.
Prosecuting the case is Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Isatu Baba Musa, who requested an adjournment to lead the first witness in the matter.
Magistrate Fornah denied bail and ordered the accused to be remanded in custody. The case has been adjourned to July 1, 2025, for further proceedings.
