Sierra Leonean music producer Thy Young on the Beat etched his name in the history books as the only double-award winner at the Salone Awards of Excellence USA 2025, held in California. He clinched the titles of Best Music Producer of the Year and Song of the Year, further cementing his influence in the global Sierra Leonean music scene.
The accolades were based on public votes cast via the newly launched Salone Awards of Excellence Voting App. His winning track, “Enjoyment”—a vibrant collaboration with Arkman and MDG (Menace the General)—earned widespread acclaim for its energetic rhythm and cultural resonance.
“This is a major project that had a serious impact in the community,” noted James Barack Kamara, CEO of Salone World of Excellence. “Thy Young continues to show why he’s a leading force in Sierra Leonean music.”
The ceremony also honored veteran artist Salone Winnerman with Artist of the Year, marking another milestone in his 22-year career, which began with the group Inspiratory and evolved into solo success.
