Freetown, July 30, 2025 — In a powerful and forward-looking address at the 14th National Delegates Conference of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), President Dr. Julius Maada Bio called on party members to embrace unity, discipline, and visionary leadership as they prepare to elect a new national executive.
Held at the Freetown International Conference Centre, the two-day event served as a defining moment in the party’s democratic journey and a strategic lead-up to the 2028 General Elections. Delegates convened under the theme of internal renewal and national responsibility, with President Bio framing the event as “a contest of character, not chaos; of vision, not vitriol.”
President Bio urged delegates to demonstrate integrity and unity and praised the outgoing executive, led by Dr. Prince Alex Harding, for their role in past electoral victories.
He reaffirmed SLPP’s founding values of economic justice and accountable governance and stressed the importance of respectful political discourse: “Politics is not war. Debate is not destruction. Disagreement is not betrayal.”
