Sierra Leone — September 10, 2025: Two men accused of stealing from the Faith Healing Bible Church construction site in Congo Town have been committed to stand trial in the High Court following a preliminary investigation at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.2.
Magistrate John Fornah ruled that Osman Sesay and Idrissa Conteh will face trial on charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, store breaking, larceny, and receiving stolen goods. The offences are said to have occurred on August 3, 2025.
According to the court, Sesay—the first accused—is charged with conspiracy, store breaking, and larceny, while Conteh—the second accused—is charged with receiving stolen goods. The magistrate cited both the voluntary caution and charged statements, noting that Sesay admitted selling a stolen speaker to Conteh.
“Having reviewed the statements and exhibits, and given the indictable nature of the offences, I am satisfied that the prosecution has presented sufficient evidence linking both accused to the crimes,” Magistrate Fornah stated during his committal ruling.
While Conteh’s bail remains in effect, Sesay was granted bail in the sum of NLe 250,000 with one surety in like amount.
The case will now proceed to the High Court, where both men will face formal trial under Section 33(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
