Sierra Leone — November 3, 2025: In a landmark ceremony held at the prestigious Bintumani Hotel in Aberdeen, the Leone Rock Metal Group and the Sierra Leone Premier League signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing national development through football.

The event marked more than a formal agreement — it reaffirmed a dynamic partnership that has already reshaped the football landscape in Sierra Leone. A Premier League official captured the spirit of the collaboration, quoting, “If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together,” underscoring the long-term vision shared by both institutions.

Beyond Sponsorship: A Vision for Empowerment

The Leone Rock Metal Group’s support goes far beyond financial backing. Their contributions — logistical, moral, and monetary — have empowered local talent, uplifted communities, and elevated the sport nationwide. “Together, we are not just building teams — we are building hope, creating opportunities, and shaping a brighter future for Sierra Leone,” the official added.

Mr. Miller, Director of Leone Rock Group, hailed the day as a “historic victory,” expressing heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Sierra Leone’s progress. He defined the occasion with four guiding principles: cooperation, progress, respect, and love.

“Giving back is not only about money; it’s about giving support in the spirit of civil responsibility. I believe we can rock together in this country,” Miller declared.

 Financial Commitment and Future Growth

Leone Rock Metal Group pledged $180,000 to the Premier League for the current year, with promises of continued support in the years ahead. The MoU outlines increased financial backing for both the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) and the Premier League, with annual increments planned. The partnership also aims to expand football competitions beyond the top-tier league, including youth leagues, the FA Cup, and other domestic tournaments.

SLFA President Babadi Kamara praised the initiative as a strategic investment in Sierra Leone’s youth. “What Leone Rock is doing today is investing in the future of Sierra Leone,” he said, emphasizing the broader impact on players, administrators, and even market vendors who rely on football events for their livelihoods.

Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James, echoed the sentiment, highlighting football’s role in fostering physical, emotional, and social development. “Football brings us together. Even during difficult times, we come together to celebrate the team,” she noted.

Kamara also celebrated the league’s success in nurturing international talent, citing Juma Bah’s journey from local leagues to Manchester City and France. “There are many hidden Juma Bah in our society. The only way we can uncover them is by organizing competitions from the grassroots to the national level,” he said.

The MoU signing stands as a renewed commitment to national unity, youth empowerment, and the growth of Sierra Leonean football. With transparent administration, increased investment, and a shared vision, the partnership between Leone Rock Metal Group and the Sierra Leone Premier League is set to inspire communities and elevate the sport to new heights.
