Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal filed by former Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) presidential candidate, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, against his conviction for sexual offences involving a minor.

Delivering the ruling on Monday, November 10, 2025, Presiding Judge Abdulai Bangura ordered the immediate arrest of Mansaray and his surety, Isha Baby Mansaray. The court noted that the appellant had failed to appear in court since the inception of the appeal, while his lawyer, Musa Pious Sesay, had been irregular in his representation.

State prosecutor Yusuf Isaac Sesay applied for the dismissal of the appeal and requested a warrant of arrest for Mansaray, citing his repeated absence from court sessions. The panel, which also included Justices Tonia Barnett and Simeon Alieu, upheld the application.

Mansaray, who is believed to be residing in the United States, was convicted in February 2023 but granted bail pending appeal later that year. With the dismissal of his appeal, the court has ordered his arrest and return to prison to serve his sentence.
