Freetown, November 12, 2025 — Ambassador Omrie Golley, a leading aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) standard bearer position, has issued an urgent appeal to party members and supporters in Sierra Leone’s Southeast region, urging them to remain peaceful, united, and focused as the APC prepares for its lower-level elections.
Speaking in a statement addressed to APC stakeholders in the region, Ambassador Golley emphasized the importance of discipline, loyalty, and comradeship in strengthening the party. He described the APC as “more than a political movement; it is a family,” cautioning that internal divisions weaken the party’s foundations while unity ensures resilience and progress.
Call for Peace and Discipline
Golley acknowledged the south-east’s reputation as a stronghold of the ruling SLPP but reminded APC supporters of their resilience through “blood, sweat, and tears”. He urged members to demonstrate leadership through tolerance, dialogue, and unity of purpose, stressing that every voice and every region has a vital role in shaping a stronger and more inclusive APC.
“As someone from Pujehun District, I want us to show the APC faithful that the Southeast stands as a shining example of discipline, loyalty, and comradeship,” he said. “Let us be known not for anger or division, but for our peace, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the red sun of the APC.”
Strengthening the Party
Golley reiterated that the APC has historically stood as a pillar of hope and progress for Sierra Leone, and called on members to let peace guide their actions and unity be their strength. He concluded his appeal with a rallying message:
“Together, we will rise—stronger, prouder, and more united than ever before. Long live the APC! Long live the Southeast! Long live the Republic of Sierra Leone!”
