Accountant and Accomplice Committed to High Court for Brutal Murder

Freetown, Sierra Leone – November 25, 2025 Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura of Pademba Road Court No. 8 has committed 38-year-old accountant and engineer, Mohamed Jabity, and 24-year-old Samuel Mossima to stand trial in the High Court for the alleged murder of Kelly Kamara.

The two men face charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Murder, contrary to Section 1 of the Offences Against the Person Act and the Death Penalty Act 2021 (Act No. 6 of 2022).

According to the particulars of offence, on September 21, 2025, at Engine, Kaingo, Lumley in Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired with other unknown individuals and fatally assaulted Kamara.

After the charges were read and explained, both accused persons entered guilty pleas.

The prosecution team was led by ASP Ibrahim, assisted by P. T. Koroma and Juliana Jusu, while the defence team comprised D. Kaindeh, P. Koroma, M. Massaquoi, and A. Samba.

During proceedings, the defence signaled its intention to file an application, prompting an adjournment. Prosecutors also informed the court that they had requested a two-week notice from a key officer, Moses Ferenkeh, who was absent but later appeared.

With Magistrate Samura’s ruling, the matter has now been committed to the High Court, where the accused will face full trial for the alleged fatal assault.
