First Lady Donates NLe1m to SLPP Women’s Wing

Sierra Leone – December 6, 2025: The Women’s Council of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) on Saturday demonstrated the strength of women’s unity during a major gathering in Freetown, where First Lady Fatima Maada Bio delivered a powerful message of appreciation and support.

Addressing party members, councillors, and women leaders from zonal, chiefdom, constituency, and regional levels, the First Lady praised the collective voice of Sierra Leonean women who converged to celebrate President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s women empowerment initiatives and the evolution of the Office of the First Lady.

“This unity is a testament to the power of women, and I firmly believe it will secure a landslide victory for SLPP in 2028,” she declared.

Recognition of Women Leaders

Fatima Bio extended heartfelt gratitude to SLPP Women’s Leader Madam Hawa Foray, Deputy Madam Fatmata Kamara, and grassroots women leaders for their tireless mobilization efforts across the country.

Major Donation Announced

As a symbol of continued commitment, the First Lady announced a donation of One Million Leones Leone  on behalf of President Bio towards the development of the SLPP women’s wing.

She concluded by thanking her husband, President Julius Maada Bio, for his “exemplary leadership,” reaffirming her dedication to advancing women’s empowerment as part of the party’s broader agenda.

The event highlighted the growing influence of women within the SLPP and underscored their role in shaping the party’s future ahead of the 2028 elections.
