Kambia, Sierra Leone – December 5, 2025: Honourable Justice Sahr Kekura, Resident High Court Judge in Port Loko District with special assignment in Kambia, has sentenced eight individuals to various prison terms after their convictions for offences against the State. The sentencing took place at the Kambia Judicial District Court in Northern Sierra Leone.
Convicts and Charges
The convicts — Alusine Conteh (alias LAC), Amadu Jalloh (alias Kayne West), Salifu Saidu Kamara, Hajaratu Osman Bangura, Gbassay Sesay, Mohamed Lamin Bangura, Saidu Bangura, Ibrahim Amara Kamara (alias Dangote), and Alimamy Kamara — faced charges ranging from conspiracy to commit burglary and larceny, wounding with intent, child cruelty, cattle larceny, killing animals with intent, shop breaking, and house breaking.
- Alusine Conteh (LAC) was sentenced to 2 years for conspiracy and 8 years for shop breaking and larceny.
- Amadu Jalloh (Kayne West) was cautioned and discharged on both counts.
- Gbassay Sesay received 2 years for conspiracy and 8 years for burglary and larceny.
- Hajaratu Osman Bangura was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment or a fine of Le 1,000 for receiving stolen goods.
- Salifu Saidu Kamara was cautioned and discharged on one count, but sentenced to 6 months imprisonment or a fine of Le 500 for child cruelty.
- Mohamed Lamin Kamara was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment (3 years each for cattle larceny and killing animals with intent).
- Saidu Bangura received 8 years imprisonment for shop breaking, larceny, and malicious damage.
- Ibrahim Amara Kamara (Dangote) was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment for house breaking and larceny.
- Alimamy Kamara was also sentenced to 8 years imprisonment for house breaking and larceny.
The offences included incidents such as the breaking and entering of an electronics shop in Madina Town, Tonko Limba Chiefdom, where mobile phones and other items were stolen. Other cases involved cruelty to children, malicious damage, and theft of livestock.
Justice Kekura’s rulings form part of the special assignment sittings directed by Honourable Chief Justice Komba Kamanda, aimed at ensuring justice is delivered in all major towns across Sierra Leone.
