Two in Court on Alleged Wounding Charges

Freetown, Sierra Leone – December 2025: Thirty-two-year-old bike rider Abu Bakarr Sesay and forty-two-year-old trader Mariatu Kamara have appeared again before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on seven counts of wounding, assault, and domestic violence. The charges were brought under Section 2(1) of the Domestic Violence Act No.20 of 2007.

According to the particulars of offence, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Thompson Street, Kissy in the Western Area, the accused allegedly wounded Saffiatu Bangura, Suliaman Sesay, and Fudia Sesay.

Counts four to seven further allege that the defendants assaulted the victims in a manner that occasioned actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained, both defendants pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh requested a short adjournment to lead his witness. Magistrate Fornah subsequently adjourned the matter to December 11, 2025.
