Sierra Leone – December 10, 2025: In a significant show of party unity and strategic leadership, the National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, met with the Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, at State House in Freetown.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the SLPP party structure and the current administration, as the party continues to provide national leadership under President Julius Maada Bio. Discussions centered on governance priorities, party cohesion, and mechanisms to ensure SLPP policies remain aligned with the government’s development agenda.
Chairman Songa reaffirmed the SLPP’s commitment to good governance, national unity, and inclusive leadership. He emphasized that the party remains disciplined and people-centered, evolving with the times while staying true to its core values.
Chief Minister Sengeh, also a senior member of the SLPP, commended Chairman Songa’s leadership and underscored the importance of synergy between the political and administrative arms of governance. He stressed that continued collaboration is vital to ensuring effective delivery of the government’s Big Five Game Changers and Vision 2028 and beyond.
Strengthening Party-Government Synergy
The engagement highlighted a united front and strategic vision within the SLPP, aimed at reinforcing internal structures, sustaining public trust, and advancing national development. Both leaders agreed that closer coordination between party and government is essential to ensuring citizens benefit from inclusive policies and transformative initiatives.
