Falaba District, January 11, 2026: The Falaba District Cooperative Society has officially commenced the disbursement of development loans to beneficiaries across the district, beginning with Mongo Chiefdom. The initiative was made possible through the support of Honourable Alhaji Musa Tarawalie.

According to the Cooperative Society, the loans are not political in nature but form part of a broader economic empowerment program aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening businesses, and enhancing financial stability among community members.

Beneficiaries are required to repay the loans with interest under the cooperative’s sustainability framework, ensuring the continuity of the program and enabling more residents to benefit in the future.

A key focus of the initiative is the empowerment of women engaged in income-generating activities. The Cooperative Society emphasized that strengthening women’s economic capacity will improve household welfare, boost local businesses, and contribute to long-term growth across Falaba District.

The Society further clarified that the program is non-partisan and inclusive, with no consideration given to political affiliation, beliefs, or personal background. Its sole objective is to promote self-reliance, economic growth, and sustainable community development.

Beneficiaries, particularly women entrepreneurs and small business owners, have been encouraged to use the loans responsibly and ensure timely repayment so that the initiative can continue to support others.

The Falaba District Cooperative Society reaffirmed its commitment to advancing economic opportunities and improving livelihoods for all residents of the district.
