Sierra Leone – February 13, 2026: Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has reaffirmed Government’s bold commitment to private sector growth and inclusive national development as he graced the grand launch of JMan Insurance Company at the Bank of Sierra Leone Complex, Kingtom.
In his keynote address, Dr. Sengeh underscored the indispensable role of the private sector in driving meaningful development worldwide. He emphasized that Sierra Leone’s prosperity depends on fostering private initiatives that stimulate economic transformation and create opportunities for all citizens.
The Chief Minister highlighted three critical dimensions of the insurance sector:
- Economic Growth: He noted that the expansion of insurance companies reflects underlying economic activity, signaling a strengthening economy even when not immediately visible to policymakers.
- Radical Inclusion: Dr. Sengeh stressed that insurance is vital for vulnerable individuals and small businesses, offering protection against crises. He pointed to the expansion of NASSIT into districts nationwide as evidence of Government’s commitment to reaching underserved communities.
- Shared Prosperity: He concluded that Sierra Leone’s development must benefit everyone, ensuring businesses grow while citizens enjoy lasting solutions.
Amadu Kassim Jah, CEO of JMan Group of Companies, expressed gratitude to Government for its continued support. He described the launch as a significant step toward strengthening financial protection and promoting resilience. Jah pledged the company’s commitment to delivering reliable and inclusive insurance services across Sierra Leone.
The launch of JMan Insurance Company directly supports Government’s Big Five Game Changers, particularly in advancing private sector growth, financial inclusion, social protection, job creation, and institutional strengthening.
The ceremony marked a notable milestone in fostering stronger collaboration between Government and the private sector. It reinforced Sierra Leone’s vision of inclusive and sustainable development, where private enterprise plays a central role in national progress.
