Sierra Leone – March 10, 2026: The National Revenue Authority (NRA), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched new Block Management System (BMS) offices at Jui Junction in the Western Area to strengthen taxpayer services and community outreach.

Speaking at the launch, NRA Commissioner General Jeneba J. Bangura highlighted the growing collaboration between the NRA and UNDP, noting achievements over the past three years, including support for the vehicle procurement system and the expected delivery of a water bowser. She explained that the containerized BMS offices will bring tax services closer to communities, improving access to taxpayer education and support.

Mrs. Bangura, on behalf of the NRA Board and Management, expressed gratitude to UNDP for its continued partnership and revealed plans to expand the initiative to other regions, including Kono, Bo, Makeni, and Kenema, through the deployment of additional containerized offices nationwide.

UN Resident Representative Fredrick Ampiah commended the NRA as a valued partner, stressing that the Block Management System could serve as a model for similar initiatives in other countries.

NRA Commissioner for Domestic Taxes James B. Tengbeh explained that the BMS offices will decentralize services and strengthen outreach by making tax support more accessible and convenient for businesses and individuals.

The initiative also received praise from representatives of the Tax Movement, the Commercial Bank Association, the Sierra Leone Importers Association, and the Western Area Rural District Traders Union, who lauded the NRA–UNDP partnership for improving taxpayer engagement.
