Ramadan Reflections: Batilo Songa Urges Peace, Tolerance

Freetown, Sierra Leone — The National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, on Friday, March 13, 2026, joined Muslim worshippers at the party’s headquarters in Freetown to observe Juma (Friday) prayer during this month of Ramadan. The solemn gathering brought together senior party members, supporters, and Muslim faithful, marking a significant spiritual moment as the holy month draws to a close.

Following the prayer, Chairman Songa expressed gratitude to Allah for granting strength and patience during Ramadan. He underscored the values of unity, compassion, and service to humanity, urging Sierra Leoneans to embrace peace, tolerance, and national cohesion beyond religious and political divides.

The event highlighted the SLPP’s commitment to inclusiveness and religious tolerance, with leaders extending warm greetings to Muslims nationwide ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Earlier the same day, Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa also welcomed distinguished party stalwarts and government officials at the SLPP headquarters. The meeting was described as inspiring and uplifting, reinforcing solidarity within the party as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
