Sierra Leone continues to make its mark on the global academic stage as Dr. Rashidatu Kamara has been awarded the prestigious Best Doctoral Thesis Award at the University of Madridโ€™s 2026 academic awards ceremony.

Dr. Kamara earned the top honour for her groundbreaking doctoral research on Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis, a study recognized for its scientific excellence, innovation, and contribution to global public health.
