The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has announced the temporary closure of the Cargo Terminal at the Freetown International Airport from 17th to 19th July 2026 to facilitate security and operational arrangements for the upcoming ECOWAS Mid-Year Summit.

In a public notice issued on July 9, 2026, the Authority informed cargo clients, importers, exporters, clearing agents, stakeholders and the general public that all cargo handling services and related terminal operations will be suspended throughout the three-day period.

According to the notice, the Cargo Terminal will not be accessible to the public while security and logistical preparations for the regional summit are underway.

The NRA apologized for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause and appealed to affected clients and stakeholders for their patience, cooperation and understanding.

The Authority further announced that normal cargo handling services and terminal operations will resume on 20 July 2026.
