The Director General of the Sierra Leone Local Content Agency (SLLCA), Fodeba Daboh, has been named among the distinguished speakers at the 3rd Africa Emerging Leaders Conference and Awards (AfELCA), scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
Organised by the West African Leadership and Empowerment Centre (WALEC), this year’s conference will be held under the theme “Strengthening Leadership for Africa’s Sustainable Future.” It is expected to convene emerging leaders, policymakers, business executives, professionals, development advocates, and changemakers from across the continent.
Mr. Daboh, a seasoned public sector executive and development practitioner, brings over 19 years of experience in international development, policy advocacy, humanitarian service, conflict resolution, and institutional leadership. Since his appointment in 2018 by President Dr. Julius Maada Bio as Director General of the SLLCA, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives to strengthen local content implementation, expand opportunities for indigenous businesses, promote local procurement, enhance workforce participation, and drive skills transfer. His leadership has ensured Sierra Leoneans benefit more directly from foreign direct investment and major economic activities.
Beyond his public service, Daboh serves as an Adjunct Professor of Historical and Political Studies at Arcadia University, where he contributes to global education through teaching and international field study programmes. He is widely recognised for his commitment to human rights, youth empowerment, gender inclusion, vocational skills development, and sustainable economic growth.
As Africa positions itself to harness opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Daboh continues to champion policies and initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of Sierra Leonean businesses and professionals, ensuring they are well-placed to seize emerging opportunities.
