The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has handed match official Foday Momoh a two-season ban from all refereeing activities after finding him guilty of serious breaches of professional standards following a disciplinary hearing.
According to an SLFA press release issued on Thursday, October 1, 2026, the Association’s Referees Committee imposed the sanction after a hearing held on September 16, 2026, to investigate allegations concerning Momoh’s conduct as a match official.
The Committee said it reviewed evidence presented during the proceedings, Momoh’s responses, corroborating information and the findings reached before unanimously concluding that his actions amounted to serious violations of the standards expected of SLFA match officials.
The breaches were said to include failures relating to professional responsibility, confidentiality, duty to report, transparency and candour.
As a result, Momoh has been suspended from all SLFA refereeing activities for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 football seasons.
The ban prohibits him from officiating as a referee, assistant referee or fourth official in any SLFA-sanctioned competition. He is also barred from conducting referee assessments, undertaking any official match-official functions on behalf of the Association, and representing himself as an SLFA match official in refereeing activities, courses or competitions during the period of suspension.
The SLFA said the sanction takes immediate effect and will remain in force for the two specified football seasons, subject to any appeal rights available to the suspended official.
The Association reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, accountability and fair play within football administration and match officiating, stressing that disciplinary measures will continue to be enforced against officials found to have violated the regulations and standards governing their responsibilities.
The statement was signed by Ibrahim Kamara, Head of Media and Marketing at the SLFA.
