Freetown, November 13, 2025: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), through its Prevention Department, has formally handed over a Corruption Risks Assessment Report to the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Company (SLPMC). The presentation took place on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, at the SLPMC conference room, 3a Wellington Street, Freetown.

The report forms part of the ACC’s compliance management and enforcement procedures, designed to review systems and policies across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure adherence to anti-corruption standards.

Welcoming the ACC team, Hindolo Sandi, Head of Operations at SLPMC, expressed appreciation for the engagement and said he looked forward to implementing the recommendations.

ACC’s Position

Deputy Director of the ACC Prevention Department, Samuel Muti Marah, described the submission as a milestone in the Commission’s campaign against corruption. He explained that the recommendations had been drafted, discussed, and finalized, urging SLPMC management to demonstrate integrity and ownership in implementing them.

Mr. Marah emphasized that a response within three months would signify acceptance of the recommendations, after which the report would become a public document and working tool. He reminded participants that the ACC derives its authority from Section 8 of the Anti-Corruption Act (ACA) of 2008, amended in 2019, and called for collective commitment to compliance.

Head of Monitoring and Compliance at the Prevention Department, Ibrahim Sorie Kamara-Kay, challenged SLPMC management with the question: “Now that you have received the report, what’s next?” He commended their readiness to abide by the recommendations but clarified that if any were deemed impractical, SLPMC must inform the ACC Commissioner, who alone has the authority to cancel or modify them.

He noted that the recommendations align with the 2024–2028 National Anti-Corruption Strategy, stressing that compliance is about demonstrating good leadership. Mr. Kamara-Kay assured SLPMC of the Commission’s support during implementation but cautioned that stiff penalties await non-compliance.The handover underscores the ACC’s determination to strengthen public sector. The SLPMC is now tasked with ensuring full compliance and leadership in implementing the anti-corruption measures.
