Sierra Leone, October 21, 2025: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a formal indictment at the High Court of Sierra Leone, Holden at Kono, against two employees of the Koidu Government Hospital for allegedly misappropriating medical supplies designated for the Free Health Care Programme.
The accused, Christian Benjamin Karjue, Head Store Keeper, and Ibrahim Janneh, Cleaner, are both residents of Koidu in the Kono District. They face one count of conspiracy to commit a corruption offence under Section 128(1), and one count of misappropriation of public property under Section 36(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 12 of 2008, as amended by the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Act No. 9 of 2019.
According to the ACC, the alleged offences occurred between April 10 and April 18, 2025. Karjue and Janneh, along with other unidentified individuals, are accused of conspiring to misappropriate thirteen cartons of assorted medical supplies intended for the Free Health Care Programme at the Koidu Government Hospital.
The Commission emphasized its continued commitment to safeguarding public resources and ensuring accountability in the health sector. It reassured the public that it remains vigilant in its efforts to combat corruption and uphold integrity in public service.
