Makeni, Bombali District — July 2, 2025 — In a spirited gathering brimming with unity and enthusiasm, stakeholders and delegates of the All People’s Congress (APC) in Sheborah Chiefdom welcomed leading presidential aspirant Lawyer Ady Macauley and his team to Makeni. The high-energy event began with interfaith prayers from both Muslim and Christian leaders, symbolizing the inclusive spirit of the APC family.
District Chairman Hon. Martin Bangura opened the occasion by reaffirming Bombali District’s historic role as the “rock” of the APC. While acknowledging visits from several aspirants, he encouraged attendees to listen attentively to Macauley’s message and consider what sets him apart.
Faith, Leadership, and Grassroots Commitment Addressing the crowd, Ady Macauley—a devout Muslim—centered his remarks around faith, patriotism, and inclusive leadership. He emphasized that true leadership is guided by divine will and realized through the people’s vote. Highlighting his commitment to building the APC from the ground up, Macauley pledged NLe 50 million to each district, including Bombali, to support party registration efforts across all levels.
Macauley also reflected on recent challenges facing Sierra Leone, citing the August 10 protest, the Pademba Road prison incident, and unrest in towns like Lunsar. He urged the party to learn from these events, calling for leadership that connects deeply with citizens and responds to their struggles.
Ongoing Engagement and Empowerment Macauley pledged to maintain regular engagement with party structures nationwide, reinforcing his belief that ward-level and grassroots members are the true drivers of APC’s future success. “We must strengthen from the roots to truly bloom as a party,” he noted.
Call for Unity and Strategic Action Chairman Bangura concluded with a powerful appeal for internal solidarity. He acknowledged Macauley’s role in defending APC during turbulent times and emphasized that regaining national leadership demands courage and collective strategy. “Power is a life-and-death struggle,” Bangura stated, “and we must stand together to reclaim our rightful place—State House—with the right candidate.”
The visit underscored a rising momentum within the APC as it prepares for upcoming elections, reflecting both the passion and preparedness of its grassroots base.
