Ambassador Bob Jusu Presents Credentials to King Philippe of Belgium

Brussels, Belgium – June 18, 2025 — Sierra Leone’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Benelux States, His Excellency Philip Bob Jusu, officially began his diplomatic tenure today by presenting his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Philippe of the Belgians.

The ceremonial event commenced at approximately 11 a.m., when a royal aide-de-camp arrived at the Ambassador’s residence to accompany him to the Royal Palace. Upon arrival, Ambassador Jusu and his delegation — including Deputy Ambassador Asmaa James, Head of Chancery Jonathan Las-Lamin, and Second Secretary Monjama Kallon — were received at the Palace entrance by the royal protocol team.

In a formal exchange, Ambassador Jusu presented both the letter of recall for his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence to King Philippe. The ceremony was followed by a private fifteen-minute discussion between the Ambassador and the King, where they discussed the longstanding diplomatic and trade ties between Sierra Leone and Belgium.

This presentation marks the start of Ambassador Jusu’s engagement with both the Belgian government and the European Union and reaffirms Sierra Leone’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations within the region.
