Brussels, Belgium – May 14, 2025: Ambassador Philip Bob Jusu, the newly appointed Sierra Leone Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, officially commenced his diplomatic tour of duty after arriving in Brussels on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. His appointment also extends to Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Greece, the Vatican, and the European Union.
Ambassador Jusu succeeds Ambassador Tamba Musa, who completed his tenure in November 2024.
Upon arrival at Brussels Zaventem Airport, he was warmly received by Deputy Ambassador Asmaa James, who expressed her delight in welcoming him to Brussels. She acknowledged his familiarity with Belgium, citing his previous work with the African Union, and assured him of a collaborative and productive tenure at the Sierra Leone Embassy.
In his remarks, Ambassador Jusu expressed gratitude for the reception, stating, “This warm welcome is truly beyond my expectations. I thank you all. I look forward to maintaining this familial spirit and working collaboratively to elevate Sierra Leone’s presence within the EU and countries of accreditation.”
Ambassador Jusu brings extensive experience in multilateral, economic, and technology diplomacy. His distinguished career includes previous roles at the United Nations, the African Union, and Google. Notably, he spent six years as Principal Advisor to the Permanent Representative and the Group of African Ambassadors at the AU Mission to the EU in Brussels, where he provided strategic guidance on socio-economic affairs.
His diplomatic mission is expected to enhance Sierra Leone’s relations with European institutions and strengthen partnerships across multiple sectors.
