Sierra Leone – December 20, 2025: AP Business Venture, the official manufacturer of Bluemoon Ice Cream in Sierra Leone, has completed the construction of Sunday Street and installed 15 solar-powered street lights in the Pamoronko Community, Calaba Town, eastern Freetown. The initiative forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme aimed at improving infrastructure and living conditions in its host community.
The project was officially unveiled on Saturday at the company’s premises in Pamoronko, attracting community elders, youth leaders, traditional authorities, and local government representatives.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kumar Yogesh, Manager of AP Business Venture Sierra Leone, said the intervention was designed to ensure that the company’s operations deliver direct and visible benefits to residents. He emphasized that development should be mutually beneficial, noting that as the company grows, surrounding communities should also experience improvements in infrastructure, economic activity, and employment opportunities.
Yogesh acknowledged that the construction of the factory had caused temporary inconvenience to residents but commended the community for its patience and cooperation. He explained that the road and solar lighting project marked the first phase of the company’s community support programme, developed in consultation with local leadership. He assured residents that further initiatives would follow as the company expands.
