Freetown, Sierra Leone – May 29, 2025—To support children affected by the recent fire disaster in Aberdeen, Ady Macaulay, a leading flagbearer aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC), has distributed hundreds of school supplies to help students return to their classrooms.

The fire, which ravaged homes just weeks ago, left families devastated and children without essential school materials. Many lost their books, uniforms, and stationery, making it difficult for them to resume studies. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, Mr. Macaulay led a community outreach on Wednesday, personally delivering school bags filled with exercise books, pens, pencils, and other supplies. Each child also received a financial contribution of Le200 to assist with their immediate needs.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Mr. Macaulay reiterated his commitment to education, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that all children continue their learning despite adversity.

“Education is the most powerful tool we can give to our children,” he stated. “These kids have lost everything, but we must not allow them to lose their future too. This initiative is not just about giving school supplies—it’s about restoring hope, dignity, and the ability to dream again.”

The event, attended by community leaders, parents, and well-wishers, was met with gratitude, as many acknowledged the significance of the support in helping the children rebuild their academic journey.

A lawyer and youth advocate, Ady Macaulay has been recognized for his grassroots engagement and focus on education and empowerment. His intervention in Aberdeen further solidifies his reputation as a leader invested in the well-being of Sierra Leone’s youth.

As schools reopen, Mr. Macaulay’s donation stands as a testament to the impact of compassionate leadership and the importance of investing in the country’s future generations.
