Freetown, Sierra Leone – May 11, 2025: Songo Village in the Western Area Rural District was electrified with excitement on Sunday as residents turned out in massive numbers to welcome Ady Macauley, a prominent aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) 2028 Flagbearer position.

A vibrant and colorful convoy of motorbike riders, women’s groups, youth, and community elders paraded through the village, rallying around Macauley—whom they affectionately call their “leader, brother, comrade, and friend.” This visit marked the first appearance of an APC flagbearer hopeful in Songo Village during the current political season, further energizing his supporters.

Community’s Overwhelming Support

The atmosphere was lively with chants, drumming, and singing, as red-clad supporters voiced their endorsement of Macauley’s vision for “better and sustainable change” in Sierra Leone.

During a town hall gathering, the village Chairlady praised Macauley for his humility, accessibility, and commitment to grassroots engagement.

“He has come not just to speak to us, but to listen, understand our needs, and propose solutions rooted in action as an elder and stakeholder of our family,” she stated.

Echoing similar sentiments, the Youth Leader hailed Macauley as “a beacon of hope” for Sierra Leone’s younger generation, commending his dedication to national affairs and party leadership.

In a strong demonstration of loyalty, Songo residents pledged full support for Macauley’s candidacy, holding placards and banners declaring their allegiance. Traditional leaders blessed his aspirations with prayers, solidifying their backing.

Commitment to Community Development

Visibly moved by the warm reception, Macauley expressed deep gratitude for the support shown to him. He assured the community that their trust would not go in vain.

As a symbolic gesture of his commitment, Macauley pledged to equip the Songo town hall with solar panels, ensuring sustainable energy access for the village and contributing to local development.

“As a son of Songo, I am not here for promises—I am here for us to talk as a family and work toward sustainable progress,” he declared.

A Day of Unity and Optimism

The event concluded with cheers, handshakes, traditional dances, and renewed hope that under Macauley’s leadership, Songo and Sierra Leone can move toward a future of unity, development, and opportunity for all.
