The Attorney General and Minister of Justice has reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to advancing people‑centred justice reforms through a strengthened partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
On Tuesday, the Attorney General met with UNDP officials to discuss collaboration under the Enhancing Access to Justice for Vulnerable Groups and Advancing People‑Centred Justice Reforms project. The initiative seeks to build a justice system that is inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all Sierra Leoneans.
According to the Attorney General, the project will focus on improving efficiency in justice delivery, reinforcing the protection of human rights, and upholding the rule of law. “By strengthening access to justice, we are laying the foundation for a more accountable and people‑centred justice sector,” he noted.
Special emphasis will be placed on addressing the justice needs of women, young people, persons with disabilities, and underserved rural communities. The Attorney General stressed that ensuring no one is left behind is central to meaningful justice sector reform.
The engagement marks another step in Sierra Leone’s broader efforts to promote fairness, accountability, and inclusivity in national governance.
