Chinese Military Doctors Provide Free Healthcare to Rural Communities in Joint Outreach with LRMG

Simiria Chiefdom, Sierra Leone – June 1, 2025 – In a significant display of international medical collaboration, the 8th Chinese Military Medical Expert Group, in partnership with Leone Rock Metal Group, has brought vital free healthcare services to communities in Simiria Chiefdom. The outreach, held in Sokoya village, provided much-needed medical consultations, treatments, and health screenings to residents with limited access to professional healthcare.

Impact of the Medical Outreach

Over 120 villagers from Sokoya and nearby settlements benefitted from the initiative, receiving free medical consultations and essential medications from the visiting Chinese military doctors. Their dedicated efforts addressed various health conditions, including malaria, hypertension, fractures, epilepsy, spinal deformities, anemia, cataracts, and oral tumors, ensuring no patient was turned away.

Dr. Shi Lei, representing the Chinese Medical Expert Group, emphasized the mission’s importance: “We traveled over 600 kilometers to bring healthcare directly to the villages of Sierra Leone. Our goal is to assist those in rural areas who need medical help the most.”
