Kailahun District, Sierra Leone – March 27, 2026 — The tragic death of Tenneh Fayia, discovered in a savanna grassland in Ngesio Community, Kissi Teng Chiefdom, has sparked calls for justice from her daughter, Tewa Fayia.

According to police reports, the body was found on March 27, prompting authorities to seek community assistance in identifying the deceased. Shockingly, despite living in the area for more than a decade, residents claimed they did not know her.

“This is deeply painful and unacceptable,” said Tewa Fayia. “My mother was a human being. She lived, she struggled, and she deserved dignity in life and in death.”

In an emotional appeal, she called for a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her mother’s death and urged authorities to ensure accountability.

“Today, I am calling for justice. Justice for my mother, Tenneh Fayia. Justice for every woman whose life is ignored or forgotten,” she declared.

The case has drawn attention to broader concerns about women’s rights and the treatment of vulnerable individuals in Sierra Leone. Activists and community members are rallying behind the hashtags #JusticeForTennehFayia and #JusticeForWomen, amplifying calls for transparency and action.

Authorities have yet to release further details on the investigation, but the incident underscores the urgent need for stronger protections and recognition of women across the country.
