Freetown, February 2, 2025: Dorim’s Travel Agency has officially launched the third edition of its annual excursion programme, “Ragbala Excursion 2026,” with Thailand selected as the destination for a unique blend of cultural exchange, business exposure, and tourism development.

The initiative, unveiled at a ceremony in Freetown, is designed to allow Sierra Leoneans to explore international business hubs, experience diverse cultures, and showcase Sierra Leone’s rich heritage abroad.

Expanding Horizons Through Travel

Chief Executive Officer Abdul Karim Koroma explained that the excursions were introduced to create opportunities for business leaders, tourists, and cultural ambassadors to identify international markets and tourism potentials.

“Thailand was carefully chosen this year despite the distance,” Koroma said, assuring participants that all travel requirements will be fully managed by the agency. He added that the programme also promotes Sierra Leonean culture internationally by introducing local delicacies abroad, encouraging foreigners to visit Sierra Leone.

Affordable Packages With Cultural Value

The Thailand excursion is priced at US$6,000, covering return air tickets, airport pick-up, accommodation, and guided tours. Participants can pay in instalments, with a minimum initial deposit of US$500 required to secure a spot.

Koroma described the trip as a “home and away Ragbala experience” that blends leisure, culture, and enterprise, with visits to key business hubs and tourist attractions.

Building on Past Success

Staff member Abdul Rahman Kamara noted that Dorim’s Travel Agency has been in the travel and tourism industry for over 20 years, offering ticketing and consultancy services before venturing into excursions in 2024.

“This is our third excursion. We started with Dubai and Turkey, followed by Turkey and Qatar. For 2026, we are taking participants to Thailand,” Kamara said, adding that positive feedback and customer satisfaction have fueled the programme’s growth.

National Tourism Alignment

Representing the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Senior Tourism Officer Abu Manley Kamara commended Dorim’s Travel Agency for aligning its activities with national tourism goals.

“As Sierra Leone has declared a Year of Tourism, we welcome partnerships with agencies like Dorim’s to promote domestic tourism, cultural exchange, and national branding,” he said.

Participant Testimony

Past participant Nedrina Kanu described her experience in Turkey and Qatar as “amazing,” noting that the excursions provided opportunities to explore different cultures. “I’m already looking forward to joining this year’s excursion,” she added.

Looking Ahead

With Thailand as the next destination, the Ragbala Excursion 2026 is expected to attract business owners, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts eager to explore Asia while promoting Sierra Leone’s culture and tourism potential on the global stage.
