September 26, 2025 — Eastern Freetown witnessed a remarkable moment of unity and reverence on Friday as thousands of worshippers and supporters gathered at the Gaddafi Mosque to observe Jummah prayers alongside Dr. Kaifala Marah, a leading aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer position.
The turnout was unprecedented. Worshippers spilled out of the mosque onto Main Bai Bureh Road, creating a sea of faithful attendees eager to participate in the prayers and catch a glimpse of Dr. Marah, who recently assumed the role of APC Chief Negotiator for the National Unity Agreement.
During the service, special supplications were offered for the leadership of the APC, unity among party aspirants, souls of fallen comrades, grassroots supporters, and the upcoming lower-level elections.
The atmosphere was one of solemn reflection and collective hope, underscoring the deep respect many Sierra Leoneans hold for Dr. Marah and their commitment to the APC’s future.
Dr. Kaifala Marah, a former Minister of Finance and Bank Governor, has emphasized healing and institutional reform as key priorities should he be elected president in 2028.
Friday’s gathering was more than a religious observance—it was a powerful symbol of political momentum. As Eastern Freetown rallied around Dr. Marah, many interpreted the event as a sign of rising strength, unity, and renewed hope for the APC and Sierra Leone at large.
