Sierra Leone — January 26, 2026: Abdul Mansaray, popularly known by his stage name Knize-Bay Derulo, has released a new single titled Marlians Everywhere, an Afro-inspired track that celebrates love, freedom, and the expressive lifestyle of today’s youth.
Produced by Twice ICE, the song blends modern Afro rhythms with energetic street sounds, reflecting contemporary youth culture. It highlights themes of confidence, loyalty, individuality, and the carefree nature of young people navigating relationships and social life.
Speaking to reporters, Knize-Bay Derulo said the track was inspired by Nigerian artist Naira Marley and the Marlian Records movement. “The Marlian movement represents freedom and originality. It encourages young people to be bold, to be creative, and to express themselves without fear. That idea inspired ‘Marlians Everywhere’,” he explained.
The artist noted that the term “Marlians” in the song represents a community bound by shared values and energy rather than geography. “It’s not just about music. It’s about a mindset and a lifestyle. Wherever young people are expressing themselves positively, Marlians are there,” he added.
Beyond music, Knize-Bay Derulo is a Mass Communication student at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, specializing in Broadcast Journalism. He also reports for the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), gaining professional experience in media. He credits his journalism background with shaping his artistic direction, saying it has helped him communicate stories through music in ways audiences can relate to.
In addition to his music and journalism career, Derulo is active in the performing arts as an actor and dancer, having appeared in several theatre productions across Sierra Leone. His stage experience, he said, has strengthened his confidence and performance skills.
The artist previously released songs, including Pheona, featuring fellow musician I-Bangs, which helped introduce him to a growing audience. With ‘Marlians Everywhere’, he believes he has taken a significant step forward in defining his musical identity. He praised his collaboration with producer Twice ICE as “smooth and creative,” noting that the producer understood the vision behind the track.
Looking ahead, Knize-Bay Derulo said he remains focused on positive growth and creativity. “I want my music to inspire confidence and unity among young people. This is just the beginning, and there is more to come,” he stated.
