FREETOWN—Five individuals accused of plotting to murder the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Musa-Yaroh Barrie, made another court appearance on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No.2.
The accused—Albert Sheriff Soloku, Foday Turay, Musa Kamara, Augustine Rashid Keifalla Josiah, and Kadiatu Kamara—face a charge of Proposing to Murder, contrary to Section 4 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
According to the charge sheet, the alleged crime took place on April 18, 2025, in Freetown.
Detective Police Constable 17171 Alie Kamara of the Cyber Crime Unit at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) testified, stating that he was assigned to investigate the case on April 21, 2025. Kamara recounted obtaining a statement from the complainant, along with audio recordings as evidence. These recordings were sent to the Cyber Unit’s laboratory section for analysis.
Kamara, alongside Inspector P.A. Moseray, reportedly executed arrest warrants for the suspects on April 22, 2025, at their residences in Lungi. The accused were then transported to Freetown for questioning, where they provided voluntary caution statements in the presence of their lawyers.
On May 12, 2025, the accused were formally charged while legal procedures were observed. Defense counsel Maddieu Sesay filed an application for bail, but Magistrate Fornah denied it, citing the severity of the allegations.
The case was adjourned until June 24, 2025, for further proceedings.
