The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) has congratulated Mr. John Shallop on his appointment as a Board Member of the National Tourist Board of Sierra Leone.
The appointment was made by His Excellency, President Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio.
In a congratulatory message signed by its President, Alh. Badaki Aliyu, PhD, FTAN described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Shallop’s contributions to the hospitality and tourism sector in Sierra Leone.
FTAN noted that Shallop, who is the President of the Sierra Leone Association of Hotels has been a strong advocate for capacity building and greater private-sector participation and collaboration in tourism.
“Your appointment is a well-deserved recognition of your contributions to the hospitality and tourism sector, your commitment to capacity building, and your advocacy for greater private-sector participation and collaboration,” the statement read.
“We are confident that your wealth of experience will bring valuable perspectives to the Board and contribute to the further development of tourism in Sierra Leone.”
FTAN wished him every success in his new role and expressed optimism for deeper collaboration between tourism stakeholders in Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
