Sierra Leone – The Generals Entity at Fourah Bay College (FBC), in collaboration with Capitol Foods, provided refreshments to more than 1,000 newly admitted students during the matriculation ceremony held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the FBC Amphitheatre.
The support package included Sierra Juice, Sierra Water, and other refreshments, distributed to students after signing the University Register, marking their official entry into the college.
Coordinator of the Generals Entity, Moreh Tarawallie, said the initiative was designed to welcome new students and foster a sense of belonging. He emphasized the importance of supporting students during major academic milestones and expressed gratitude to Capitol Foods for partnering in the effort.
Cecilia I.P. Koroma, Marketing Officer at Capitol Foods, described the partnership as part of the company’s commitment to education and youth development through Corporate Social Responsibility. She encouraged students to patronize Capitol Foods products, noting that every purchase contributes to the company’s community support initiatives.
Liberator George T. M’bayoh, leader of the Liberals Brotherhood at FBC, highlighted the Generals Entity’s longstanding role in student welfare and campus development. He cited initiatives ranging from infrastructure improvements to sensitization campaigns against drug abuse and examination malpractice, stressing that student-led support complements the administration’s efforts.
Deputy Registrar Brima Bah commended the Generals Entity and Capitol Foods for their contribution, describing the gesture as significant in improving student welfare. He noted that partnerships with private organizations are vital in addressing the challenges posed by FBC’s growing student population.
Many matriculating students expressed appreciation for the refreshments, describing the gesture as timely and encouraging during the lengthy proceedings.
The ceremony, which attracted faculty members, parents, and guests, reaffirmed Fourah Bay College’s tradition of welcoming new students into one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and most prestigious tertiary institutions. The collaboration between the Generals Entity and Capitol Foods was widely viewed as a meaningful contribution to student-centered initiatives and campus life.
