Welcoming the high-level delegation on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio, the Government, and the people of Sierra Leone, Vice President Jalloh expressed appreciation for Germany’s decision to visit communities and witness development projects firsthand. He described the gesture as a demonstration of genuine partnership beyond formal diplomacy.
Reflecting on the long-standing ties between the two nations, the Vice President recalled Germany’s support during Sierra Leone’s post-conflict recovery, noting that its commitment to rehabilitation, infrastructure, and development cooperation has made the partnership both active and impactful.
He emphasized that the courtesy call reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to walking alongside Sierra Leone as the country continues to plan and implement key development initiatives.
Vice President Jalloh highlighted progress in education, women’s empowerment, and healthcare, describing them as central to improving everyday life for citizens. He pointed to increased investment in social sectors, reduced maternal mortality, expanded access to quality healthcare, and mobile health services reaching communities.
“These achievements reflect a shared vision with Germany, placing people—especially women and vulnerable groups—at the heart of development efforts,” he said, adding that Sierra Leone remains committed to deepening cooperation in the years ahead.
In her remarks, Minister Radovan expressed delight at being in Sierra Leone, noting the importance of seeing the country’s progress firsthand since the civil war and through the challenges of the pandemic.
She commended the government’s Big Five Agenda initiatives, highlighting achievements in security, women’s health, education, and youth empowerment. She also praised collaborative efforts between Sierra Leone, Germany, and international partners such as the World Food Programme.
