The Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Grafton Police Division, Chief Superintendent Augustine Allieu Konneh, convened a Tasking and Coordinating Group (TCG) meeting on Wednesday, 16th July 2025 at the Divisional Headquarters in Grafton Village. The session served as a platform to address critical operational strategies aimed at enhancing public safety and reinforcing professionalism within the division.
In his address, LUC Konneh underscored the importance of daily patrols as a core strategy to curb criminal activity. He tasked the Operations Unit with intensifying both day and night patrols, and emphasized the need for consistent monitoring at all police checkpoints within the division.
The Commander revealed directives from a recent meeting with Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu, including:
– Shift adjustments, with more personnel deployed to night (B) shift for effective coverage
– Stricter protocols on maternity leave, requiring certified documentation from Human Resources prior to approval
– Disciplinary measures against officers found wearing improper attire such as slippers, especially during night duty
LUC Konneh issued a firm reminder that all officers must be neatly and professionally dressed while on duty. Any breach of this policy will result in disciplinary action, reinforcing the division’s commitment to maintaining police standards.
Community Relations & CSV Collaboration
In a bid to improve public confidence and foster development, Commanders were urged to build cordial relationships with local stakeholders; transparency and accountability were identified as pillars to restore trust and collaboration with Community Service Volunteers (CSVs) was encouraged as part of the ongoing transition from “force to service”.
Superintendent Kalokoh of Rokel Police Station, speaking on behalf of unit commanders, pledged full support to LUC Konneh’s vision of transforming the Grafton Police Station into a center of trust and professionalism.
LUC Konneh concluded by thanking all commanders and unit heads for their participation and continued dedication to duty.
