Freetown, September 11, 2026 – The High Court of Sierra Leone has issued an interim injunction restraining Cricket Sierra Leone Company Limited from holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026.
The order was delivered by Justice Mark Ngegba following a complaint challenging the constitutionality of the congress in Miscellaneous Application No. 204/26.
The matter was brought by Murray Town Cricket Club, suing as a member of the company, and Emmanuel Pessima, a Board Member and Director of Development. They named Cricket Sierra Leone Company Limited, sued as a company limited by guarantee, and Francis Trevor Samura, Chairman of the company, as defendants.
According to the ruling, the application was filed through an ex‑parte Notice of Motion dated September 10, 2026, supported by an affidavit sworn by Emmanuel Pessima. After hearing submissions from counsels A. Kamanda Esq and M. Katta Esq for the plaintiffs, the court granted an injunction restraining the defendants, their agents, or representatives from convening the AGM.
The injunction will remain in force until October 6, 2026.
The court ordered counsel for the plaintiffs to serve all defendants with the injunction and related filings by September 14, 2026, and to submit an Affidavit of Service on or before October 6, 2026.
The matter has been adjourned to October 6, 2026 for further hearing. The court made no order as to costs.
