Jusu & Tamburo Family Distributes School Supplies to 19 Students in Goderich

Oba Funkia, Goderich — October 5, 2025: In a heartfelt gesture of community support, the Jusu & Jusu & Tamburo Family has distributed school materials to 19 students in Oba Funkia, Goderich, as part of a scholarship initiative launched earlier this year in memory of the late Kumba Lucinda Jusu-Jackson, who passed away on April 10, 2024, at Choithram Hospital.

The scholarship programme, introduced in April 2025, aims to support children’s education in the community. Beneficiaries received essential school items including bags, shoes, books, pencils, pens, erasers, crayons, and markers.

Speaking on behalf of Sando Jusu, who resides in the United States, Tamba Jusu-Koiyia, the youngest son of Mrs. Cecilia Mamie Jusu, described the initiative as a meaningful opportunity for the children. He acknowledged delays in the delivery of materials due to unforeseen circumstances but confirmed that all items were eventually provided.

Jusu-Koiyia clarified that the scholarship is partial and not fully funded, but assured families of the family’s continued commitment to supporting the students’ academic journey. He also encouraged parents to actively guide and motivate their children, stressing that hard work is essential to maintaining eligibility.

Stephen V. Lansana, administrator of the scholarship scheme, announced that school fees for the beneficiaries will be paid by late October or early November. This timely intervention is intended to prevent disruptions in the students’ education and reinforce the programme’s dedication to their academic progress.

The initiative stands as a tribute to the legacy of Kumba Lucinda Jusu-Jackson and reflects the family’s enduring commitment to education and community empowerment.
