Labourers Remanded for Wounding

Freetown, November 19, 2025 – Three labourers have been remanded in custody after making their first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on multiple charges, including wounding and assault.

The accused – 30-year-old Abass Sesay, 19-year-old Abdulai Sesay, and 17-year-old Foday Kamara – face five counts ranging from wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm to malicious damage, throwing missiles, and carrying offensive weapons without lawful authority, contrary to sections 6 and 16(1) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.

Details of the Offence

According to the charge sheet, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Koya Town, Wellington in the Western Area, the defendants allegedly wounded Abdul Fattah Kamara.

  • Count Two: The accused are said to have assaulted Kamara, thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
  • Count Three: They allegedly damaged a Toyota Camry with registration number AQF 181, breaking both windscreens valued at Le3,500 each, along with seven sheets of zinc and other property, amounting to a total of Le10,750 belonging to Kamara.
  • Count Four: The defendants were also accused of throwing missiles at Kamara’s compound during the incident.

Court Proceedings

The matter was heard before Magistrate Fornah, who ordered the remand of the accused pending further hearings.
