Sierra Leone — November 14, 2025: Lace Groove Music Consultancy, led by renowned music educator and former Principal of the Ballanta Academy of Music and Performing Arts, Lovelace Love-Harding, is set to host the much-anticipated Birthday Brass Concert on Friday, November 14, 2025. The event will take place at Creative Hub Africa on Spur Road, adjacent to the Lumley Police Station.
Organized by the October 27th Birthday Mates, the concert promises an electrifying evening of rhythm, melody, and musical celebration. Featuring some of Sierra Leone’s most talented instrumentalists and vocalists, the show will begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue into the night with a lively karaoke session.
Speaking ahead of the event, Lovelace Love-Harding described the concert as a tribute to life, friendship, and the expressive power of live music — particularly the brass family, which includes the trumpet, saxophone, trombone, and tuba. “This is a musical gift to the city,” he said. “We are excited to bring musicians and audiences together for a night that celebrates artistry and joy. The brass family has a rich, uplifting sound that resonates with emotion and unity.”
The concert will showcase a vibrant fusion of Afro-jazz, contemporary gospel, and soulful highlife — blending traditional Sierra Leonean creativity with global musical influences. Tickets are currently on sale at NLe 100 for Ordinary and NLe 500 for VIP access.
Beyond the main performances, the after-event karaoke session is expected to be a highlight of the evening, offering guests a chance to sing, unwind, and connect with fellow music lovers. “This aligns with Lace Groove’s mission to create inclusive, participatory, and fun-filled music experiences that go beyond traditional stage performances,” Lovelace explained.
The event will also celebrate the birthdays of several artists and supporters who share the October 27th date, giving the concert its name — Birthday Brass Concert.
Over the years, Lace Groove Music Consultancy has played a pivotal role in nurturing emerging talent and promoting live musical expression across Sierra Leone. Through a blend of education, entertainment, and community engagement, the institution continues to strengthen the country’s creative arts industry and preserve its vibrant musical heritage.
