Magboroka, Tonkolili District — July 8, 2025
All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer hopeful, Lawyer Ady Macauley, energized the Tonkolili District with a compelling message of strategic leadership, justice, and inclusivity. During his visit to Kholifa Rowala Chiefdom in Magboroka, Macauley met with party delegates, grassroots supporters, traders, youth, and local stalwarts, positioning himself as a unifier and reformist ahead of the 2028 elections.
Macauley’s Mission: A Stronger APC for National Transformation
In his address, Macauley emphasized that his ambition extends beyond personal politics, focusing instead on revitalizing and restructuring the APC for sustainable national development. Backed by visual documentation of his past sacrifices, he applauded the courage of former APC Chairlady—whom he called a “lioness of the struggle”—and commended ex-President Ernest Bai Koroma’s transformational impact across sectors.
Youth and Women’s Empowerment Front and Center
With over 60% of Sierra Leone’s population made up of young people, Macauley stressed their vital role in shaping the future. He pledged dedicated leadership positions for women under 35, asserting, “Leadership is not about title but about sacrifice and service to humanity.” He cited his two decades of legal service in Sierra Leone and his pro-bono work in the UK as a testament to his values.
Justice Agenda and Political Courage
Macauley fiercely criticized the current SLPP government, referencing electoral injustices and his own arrest tied to a peaceful protest. “I was imprisoned for exercising a constitutional right on national television,” he said, pledging not to be intimidated. He encouraged citizens to engage meaningfully with the upcoming census, even symbolically urging the counting of unborn children to reflect the country’s full potential.
Strategic Planning for 2028
Drawing lessons from SLPP’s tactical return to power in 1999, Macauley urged the APC to adopt a similarly strategic approach to win the upcoming elections. His message of preparedness and reform resonated deeply among district leaders.
Voices of Endorsement
Former APC Chairlady shared an emotional endorsement, recalling a shared imprisonment with Macauley and affirming his integrity and bravery. “We need a lion, not a coward,” she declared. Chairman Akim praised Allah and confirmed Tonkolili’s unwavering support, while the District Chairlady recognized Macauley and Lawyer Boniface as the district’s most trusted legal advocates.
Community Needs Highlighted
Calls were made for infrastructure development—including the Mile 91 and Bumbuna roads—and financial empowerment through women’s grants. The visit concluded with Tonkolili reaffirming its loyalty to Macauley, applauding his dedication to justice, unity, and strategic reform.
