Freetown, Sierra Leone — A motor mechanic, Hassan Koroma, on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, testified as the second prosecution witness in an ongoing wounding case involving trader Isata Mansaray and defendant Bilkisul Kallon. The matter is being heard before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No.2.

Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa, Koroma identified the complainant, Isata Mansaray, as his wife and the defendant as the daughter of his landlord. He recounted a violent incident that occurred on 2nd October 2025 at Upper George Brook, Dwarzark Farm, Freetown.

Koroma told the court that upon returning home from work that evening, he learned from his mother-in-law that his wife had gone to visit a friend. When she returned, she reported that the defendant had uprooted her growing crops. Koroma advised his wife to avoid confrontation and together they reported the matter to the defendant’s cousin, known as “Teacher.”

According to Koroma, the defendant began hurling insults at his wife. When confronted, the defendant emerged from her cousin’s room wielding a mortar pestle. Mansaray attempted to disarm her, and with the help of a third party, Kadiatu, laid the pestle down. However, the defendant allegedly retrieved it and struck Mansaray on the head, causing a serious wound.

Koroma further testified that the defendant fled the scene but returned shortly after and struck him on the back with the same pestle. He then sought help to transport his injured wife to Akon Police Station, where officers advised them to seek immediate medical attention due to excessive bleeding. Both Koroma and Mansaray were treated and issued police medical request forms, which were later endorsed at Lumley Police Station.

The prosecution tendered the medical form for identification. Following Koroma’s testimony, defense counsel A.E.M. Lukullay requested a short adjournment to cross-examine the witness, which was granted.

Magistrate Fornah denied bail and remanded the defendant to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 5th November 2025.

Bilkisul Kallon faces four charges: wounding with intent contrary to Sections 18 and 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, malicious wounding, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm under Section 47 of the same Act. The charges stem from the incident on 2nd October 2025 at Building One Community, Upper George Brook, Dwarzark Farm, where she allegedly wounded Isata Mansaray and assaulted Hassan Koroma.
