Sierra Leone, Sept. 21, 2026: The National Revenue Authority (NRA), through its Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) Department, has sealed off BBT Quarry in Cline Town, Freetown, over an outstanding Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Licence liability of NLe 276,935.42, according to the Public Affairs and Tax Education Department, National Revenue Authority.
According to the NRA, the enforcement action forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance with statutory obligations, improve domestic revenue mobilization, and ensure that businesses fulfil their financial responsibilities to the state.
The Authority emphasized that the exercise is in line with its mandate to collect government revenue and enforce adherence to non-tax revenue obligations.
The NRA further urged taxpayers and business operators across the country to settle their outstanding liabilities promptly to avoid similar enforcement actions.
The Authority noted that compliance with tax and non-tax revenue obligations is essential to supporting government programmes and advancing Sierra Leone’s national development agenda.
