Freetown-Aberdeen August 1st 2025-As part of its “2025 Year of Ecotourism” drive, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Olive’s Garden and Reggae Union Sierra Leone, hosted the lively One Nation Reggae Festival at Family Kingdom Resort in Freetown. The event attracted locals, diaspora, and international guests, all united by reggae’s powerful message of peace and resilience.
Minister Nabeela Farida Tunis, alongside Deputy Minister Kadija Ahene Kamara and Permanent Secretary Judith Jones, highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to using cultural platforms to promote national unity and showcase Sierra Leone’s rich heritage. Guests enjoyed electrifying performances by the Reggae Union Sierra Leone, Alonso, and other celebrated artists, complemented by local and international food and drinks.
Festival-goers praised the event as both inspiring and entertaining, reflecting on how music fosters social cohesion and pride. The strong turnout, including tourists and cultural enthusiasts, underscored the Ministry’s success in positioning Sierra Leone as a vibrant destination for cultural tourism.
