November 24, 2025 — Law enforcement officers in Freetown West have struck a major blow against drug traffickers following an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the seizure of six containers filled with dried leaves suspected to be kush, according to the Police Media Team

The operation, carried out under the direct supervision of Regional Commander AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, targeted multiple locations across the region. Officers recovered three barrels and three cartons of the suspected narcotics in coordinated raids.

  • Two barrels were intercepted from a Serena vehicle (registration ALA-080) driven by Yussif Sesay.
  • Another barrel was seized from a Toyota taxi (registration API-156) near Adonkia Cemetery in Goderich.
  • Three cartons were discovered at a residence believed to belong to a woman identified as Patricia, who is currently on the run.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Yussif Sesay had been contracted by Abdul Rahman Sesay to transport the barrels. Both men are now in police custody. The taxi driver linked to the Toyota vehicle fled the scene, and efforts to track him down are ongoing.

All seized exhibits have been secured and will undergo forensic laboratory analysis to confirm their contents.

Regional Commander Koroma emphasized that the successful operation demonstrates the Sierra Leone Police’s determination to intensify the fight against illegal drugs in Freetown West.

This latest crackdown marks a significant disruption to drug trafficking activities in the region and underscores the importance of intelligence-led policing in combating organized crime.
